Limited time... limited Internet access.. in Rawalpindi... considerable fighting throughout the country. I will keep this room at this hotel throughout the week but plan on taking limited clothing and my camera equipment to Karachi and Peshawar. Travel is now impossible.. trains have been attacked and train stations burned along with dozens of police stations and banks burned... getting just from the airport to the hotel was so difficult... roads were blocked with burning debris.
I am fine... and safe... will check in as I can.
I am in the right place at the right time in history and am having the time of my life!

- Jim Johnson is an attorney, adjunct professor and a freelance journalist. He has practiced law for over 25 years. He is also a former officer in the United States Navy. Johnson has taught at the college level for 30 years Since 2006 he has traveled the world writing and photographing war and conflict. (August 2007) The public uprising against right-wing paramilitary death squads in Colombia.(March 2008) The 26 year old Sri Lankan civil war in South Asia (August 2008) Civil uprising in from the streets of Dhaka in Bangladesh (March 2009) Most recently Johnson retured to Sri Lanka where he and his fiancee Marci, were married on the coast of the Bay of Bengal. Away from professional life, Johnson is an experienced sailor, solo high altitude mountain climber and is also active in running marathons.
